Administration /finance /volunteers

Jana works for LIGHT FOR THE WORLD since 2014. She cares about the functioning and operation of the accounting office. At the same time he cares about the volunteers. She enjoys reading detective stories and fantasy and sometimes she even writes stories by herself. She likes to paint with oil color, enjoys sports, traveling, gardening, listening to music, ballroom dancing and photography. Currently she is training running to be able to join the cross country team from LIGHT FOR THE WORLD.

Program Coordinator

Michael works for LIGHT FOR THE WORLD as a project coordinator since 2014. She studied regional and political geography. She is interested in her surroundings and influencing unequal development in the world. She likes biking and snowboarding. In her free time she likes to read or go to concerts.

Pavla Jirošová


Paula joined the team from LIGHT FOR THE WORLD in September 2014, and she cares about fundraising and PR. After twenty years in advertising and marketing agencies she decided to pursue meaningful work, and since 2012 she is working as a fundraiser in the non-profit sector. She has got two daughters, dogs and other pats garden and household and is successfully combining to carry about her responsibilities and her work. She loves traveling, trekking in the mountains, nature, books, music and lots of other things they would not fit into this text.

Alena Lokajíčková

Program Coordinator

Alena started to work for LIGHT FOR THE WORLD in March 2015 as project coordinator. Her interest in the world affairs motivated her to study political sciences and international relations. During her studies, she also had the chance to learn more about current development issues. She likes music, dance and spending her free time in the nature.

Míša Vyležíková

Program Coordinator

Míša is our newest project coordinator since she joined our team on spring of 2016. She is interested in international relations, experiential learning, travelling and hand crafting as well. When she has a few days off she likes to go out to the woods or to a concert, but she also likes to have a calm evening while baking a cake. She moved to Prague just recently so she is still trying not to get lost on her way to work.

Aneta Čubíková

Communikation and PR

Aneta is our newest member to our team came in summer 2016 as coordinator of communications and PR. Interested primarily in marketing and consumer psychology, and therefore also at the University of Economics Prague chose Commercial Communications as minor. She loves running, reading books; she has new passion for CrossFit, but on the other hand loves to wallow.

Lucie Králová

Volunteer/ runr

Lucka studies diplomacy at the University of Economics in Prague. She got to SVĚTLO through her sister, which showed her the joy of helping others on voluntary basis. She’s been helping with the project Run Against Blindness since 2014 – especially with communication in English with foreign runners. She loves walks in nature, movies, books, music – basically anything that helps her to fully wake up her endless fantasy.

Prof. Mudr. Martin Filipec, CSc.

Chairman of the Board

Martin Filipec is a notable Czech ophthalmologist and scientist specializing in ocular immunology and external eye diseases. In the field of microsurgery, he focused mainly on corneal transplantation, cataract and glaucoma surgery and anterior segment reconstruction. He is the founder of the Ocular Tissue Bank (2001) at the General Teaching Hospital in Prague. Since 1993, he has been working with the Lexum private eye clinic, where he performs laser refraction surgeries. He introduced corneal transplantation to Afghanistan, has operated on blind children in Kenya, and participated in a programme eliminating river blindness in Venezuela.

Mgr. Běla Třebínová

Board member

Běla Třebínová is the 2002 and 2006 World Champion in 50 m backstroke swimming (S5 category), a World record holder in the same category, and Paralympics Champion in Athens 2004. She works as a business consultant for She received a degree in Child, Adult and Elderly Care from the Medical-Social Faculty of the University of South Bohemia.
